I know, I know... It's been a while. But, guess what? I'm updating you! Better late than never!

Things are moving right along on the DP front! We are super busy trying to get everything in order for a very busy year. I can't wait to get everything up and running so that we can continue moving forward!!!!!

Have I mentioned how much taxes suck? No offense to the IRS.

I hope 2008 is finding everybody well!

Nature takes its course...

Well... here we are. December is here and we are rapidly moving toward Christmas and the end of the year. I am very much enjoying this brisk weather (if you can call it that- I do live in Southern California) and am loving the rain we've been getting.

My last poll asked what you guys thought about Global Warming. I don't know one way or the other whether it's real or not. I tend to lean toward the fact that the world's weather has always changed and is still constantly changing. What was the ice age? What happened during the great meltdown? See, it just doesn't make sense to me that everything that has happened historically with the changes in weather, temperature, and climate have all be human-related. I simply seem to think that it's happening a little faster this time because the world population is so high and we have so many cars on the road and cows in the fields. (Did you know that cows are actually the #1 methane producers in the world? It's true... look it up.) I think that if we all do our parts: walk as much as we can, ride our bikes, eat less red meat, recycle, and simply pay attention to what we are consuming in every facet of our lives, we can perhaps delay this perfectly natural climate change.

Okay, now that I've said my piece...

I'm taking care of my grandmother right now. She has had knee surgery and I am lucky to be so close so that I am able to help her out when she needs it. The thing is, I'm having trouble figuring out how come it is that every time you do something nice for somebody, how come something bad always happens to you?

For example, last night, my grandma was having trouble and my Papa went in to the room where she was. They were trying to figure something out and I heard my name. I got up to see what the story was and I whacked my little toe of my left foot on a walker that was parked in a most inconvenient spot. My toe is currently all black and blue, swollen, and let's just say that part of it is all bloody and gross! I just about lost control. I ended up taping it up to the toe next to it so that I limit movement in it. I can HARDLY put on my Vans. It is borderline excruciating. So, long story short (as my dad so eloquently put it) No good deed goes unpunished.

I wish you all a merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Kwanzaa and whatever other holiday I may have missed.

Happy December!

Hello Friends!

November was a wonderful month! December will prove itself to be just as wonderful, I'm sure!

I'd like to rant for a second about how disgusted I am with how far off we all have become with what Christmas is really about. Since it is practically illegal to mention the word God in public places anymore, we have forgotten what the reason for the season is! We have also forgotten that it's unnecessary to buy each other lavish gifts and spend tons of money on each other in order to tell our friends and loved ones that we were thinking about them. Because, let's face it... we've moved way past "it's the thought that counts." What counts now is how much the gift cost, or how many presents are under the tree.

Well... I've had it! I'm sick of looking at commercials that tell me I need to buy this thing to make my friend happy. I'm extremely sick of hearing about how every kiss begins with Kay. Most kids I know don't need one more toy to make them smile. As a matter of fact, they don't need one more toy at all- they have plenty.

I'm not buying presents this year. Hopefully, I won't buy another present in my life! I'm moving back in time and handmaking every single gift I give for Christmas! I'm actually going to think about the people I am giving gifts to and create or make something for them that they will truly enjoy! That's my goal this holiday season.

I urge everybody who reads this to rethink spending lots and lots of money on Christmas gifts. Remember that the real reason for the season is to celebrate our religion, family, and spending time with people you love and who love you in return! Don't get hung up in commercials and 'things,' take a step back and think about what you're going to give to your family and realize that it costs much less and means so much more if you simply put your cell phone down and kick back and watch a football game with Dad, or help Mom clean out the storage unit!

Long Time, No Update... But, I'm thankful anyway!

I'm sorry... I know. I should have been better about updating my blog, but to be honest, I just plain forgot! It's been just one of those things!!

A lot has been happening. I have been BUSY! I love being busy. Holiday season is among us, friends, and that means HOLIDAY CARDS! I love that about holiday season. Holiday cards make this girl (and company) very happy! I absolutely love making holiday cards and helping people try to come up with ideas and see them through to fruition. Alas, sometimes I'm unable to help, but most of the time... magic happens!!

If you need holiday card help, please let Dutchess know! We'd be happy to help you out!

We met up with another printer. I love touring their equipment and seeing exactly what they are capable of doing at those places. I get so excited! I get so many ideas!!

All in all, November has treated us very well over here. I've been busy, like I said, but loving every second of it. I hope November has been just as good to you!

California's Burning, Burning

I love the band Augustana. They have this song called "California's Burning." It says, "California's burning, burning to the ground..." It's so sad, because at least for Southern California, the song is eerily prophetic.

Printer quotes are very encouraging! We shall see how all this transpires!!

In the meantime, stay safe. I'd love to hear how everybody is doing. It's a SAD situation in So Cal right now. Let's do our best to make sure we all remain as sane as humanly possible.

We are going a little bit stir-crazy, as outdoor activity has been limited to bare minimum- the air carries yuck in it right now. I can't wait to wash my car off and dust the house- knowing the dust will stay gone and not have yuck in it, too!

Another huge thank you to Newbaric. Without you, nothing would be done. Thanks fo ryour prodding and egging me on! You're amazing. Bouncing leg and all.

Here's a shout out to all the Firefighters and Law Enforcement officials who are helping us all out. We appreciate your help. Thank you for all you're doing for all of us.

It would appear that Wheat Thins won. GO WHEAT THINS. I prefer these bad boys with a little hummus! mmmmmmmmm!

Tootise Roll Center

Well, friends. It appears that it takes only one lick to get to the tootsie roll center of a tootsie pop! That's really good news. I had no idea.

So, on the Dutchess front, things are good! We have meetings and are receiving samples of papers, and all sorts of groovy things this week! I am hoping to have a printer by the end of the week!! How rad is that?!

Don't worry, I'll keep you all in the loop!!

On Our Way...

The past couple of weeks have been an exciting blur! We have been gearing up for lots of next steps.

I am delighted to announce that we are done with our paper designs for our first run and we are getting ready to go to press. I couldn't be more proud of what we have come up with and our progress thus far.

Kudos to NEWBARIC (click on link to the right), Dave- Outside All Day (link to the right), Marmee, Chim, and Jo.

I have a question for all of you...
